Children are developing adult diseases all because they do not move. I know we have Mac's & PlayStation's now. I had Texas Instrument & Atari and I still managed to get out and play! Yeah, yeah I know my toys were not as exciting but, I digress. When I was a Certified Nurses Assistant on Wake Meds Pediatrics floor I could not believe how many obese children were patients. And of course most of their illnesses could have been prevented just by continuous movement for as little as 30 minutes a day.
I was also shocked to learn that most schools now have limited or no PE. WHAT!? I participated in Jump Rope for Heart, The Presidents Physical Fitness Challenge & everyones all time favorite Field Day! There were also after school sports. It can be even harder for parents that homeschool their children to find a physical education activity. I do understand that not all kids are meant to be jocks or health nuts and this not what I am asking for. I am just asking that you make your child back away from the tv and introduce them to the backyard.
But if you can't get your child outside at least get them in some type of organized aerobic exercise. Parents you can get together with other moms & dads in the neighborhood, decide on a meeting place and have

We have always heard that the children are our future. Well what type of future do we have if for the first time in history the children are dying at younger ages then their parents?
The participants will walk anywhere from 1-5 miles without even leaving the building! We walk to the beat of the music which is timed so that everyone walks the number of designated miles by the end of class. A toning section is included and I will provide the toning bands.
